Instructions for downloading and installing:
  1. If you've never done anything like this before, you may want to print these instructions for reference during this process. It isn't difficult, but does involve many steps!
  2. Select the appropriate version for your computer(s). Older and slower computers, or those with slower Internet connections, might want to try lower resolution screen savers. For newer/faster computers, or those with faster Internet connections, use either version. Click on the underlined choice you have made.
  3. A "wizard" should pop up that will walk you through the downloading process.
  4. Save the file to your hard drive.
  5. After the "wizard" has told you that you have successfully downloaded the file, double click on the icon for the downloaded file and click "Setup" in the box that appears.
  6. Click on the Windows "Start" icon.
  7. Choose "Settings," then "Control panels," then "Display."
  8. In the "Display Properties" window, choose the "Screen Saver" tab.
  9. Click the down arrow next to the textbox and choose "Elementary Online Safety" or "Secondary Online Safety," depending on which screen saver you downloaded.
  10. Click the "Settings" button to the right of the textbox and on the new window that pops up, choose the "Settings" button again.
  11. On the "Screen Saver" tab select "Use as default screen saver for Windows" and adjust the times if you would like.
  12. Click "Okay" to close the "Screen Saver and Wallpaper Settings" window and use the "X" to close the "Elementary Online Safety" or "Secondary Online Safety" window.
  13. This will return you to the "Display Properties" window, where you will click the "Apply" button and then the "Okay" button.
  14. Close the "Control Panels" window and your screen saver should display if you do no touch your mouse or keyboard for the amount of time you indicated.
