Artificial intelligence is changing the world around us, and today’s students will be stepping into a future filled with opportunities we can only begin to imagine. So how do we help them get ready?
One exciting opportunity right here in Franklin County is giving high school students a chance to explore technology, discover new skills and maybe even find a future career path!
TECH CORPS CEO Lisa Chambers and Andrena Austin from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners’ Office of Economic Engagement and Community Development joined us on Columbus Living to talk about Hackathon, an event that brings students together to learn, collaborate and solve problems.
This year’s focus is artificial intelligence, but you don’t have to be a computer whiz to participate! We talked about how Hackathon makes technology approachable while helping students build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills.
Andrena also shares why Franklin County is investing in opportunities like this and how introducing young people to technology can help prepare Central Ohio’s future workforce.
Sometimes all it takes is one experience to help a student discover something they never knew they could do!
Find out how students can get involved in Hackathon and how the community can help support the next generation of innovators.
The 2026 TECH CORPS Hackathon is sponsored by The Franklin County Board of Commissioners Economic Engagement & Community Development, Nordson Corporation Foundation, The City of Columbus City Council, Google, SciTech, SIM CLEVELAND, Cuyahoga Community College, Telus Digital, and Honda.
Hope to see you at the Hackathon!
There’s still time to get involved in the Hackathon! Student spots and volunteer opportunities are available. Register to participate, sign up to volunteer, or help spread the word so more students can experience what’s possible.
