What inspired you to join TECH CORPS, and how did it shape your path?
My principal shared an email about TECH CORPS during my senior year, and it immediately caught my attention. I signed up feeling excited and curious, and that decision truly paid off. The people I met and the program’s structure helped shape how I approached learning and my future.
How would you describe your experience with instructors and peers?
The instructors felt like big brothers to us. They were close in age and had real experience in the field. That made lessons clearer, especially when we were building computers, because they had done it themselves and guided us step by step.
How did TECH CORPS influence your education and career direction?
After learning the basics of computer building and cybersecurity, I chose computer science as my freshman major. I felt ahead in my classes because of TECH CORPS. As an artist, I later shifted to graphic design, combining both worlds as a digital artist using tools like Photoshop.
What skills or moments from the program stood out most to you?
Teamwork stood out the most. From group projects to internship experiences, I learned how to meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and be on time. Trial and error taught me patience and problem-solving skills, which I still rely on today in both creative and technical work.
How do you stay connected, and what would you like to say to TECH CORPS?
My cohort created a Discord before the program ended, and we still check in with each other. I want to thank TECH CORPS for teaching structure, teamwork, and skills I continue to use. Even now, cybersecurity knowledge helps me solve problems with confidence.
