What led you to TECH CORPS?
I’ve been interested in technology since seventh grade, especially programs that support girls in IT. After finding TECH CORPS on my high school job board, I knew I had to apply. The program helped turn my interest into a clear pathway and gave me confidence and direction as I planned my future.

Which TECH CORPS experiences stood out?
TECH CORPS tech support training stood out the most. Learning core IT skills in a supportive environment made the work feel real and approachable. Hearing local lawmakers talk about growing tech opportunities in Columbus also confirmed that this field is expanding and worth committing to long-term.

How did mentors build confidence?
The mock interviews with technology professionals were impactful because we were treated as professionals and given honest feedback. That experience helped me understand real industry expectations. I used all of those interview skills when I applied for and accepted my first job out of high school at Morgan Stanley.

How did TECH CORPS prepare you?
The Morgan Stanley interview process felt familiar because of TECH CORPS. There were multiple interviewers and repeated questions, just like our mock interviews. I knew how to stay calm, be consistent, and answer honestly. Having the CompTIA industry credential on my resume, along with my confident mindset, helped me push through, and after weeks of waiting, I found out I had been selected.

Where are you now?
I’m currently a Technical Support Specialist at the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity. TECH CORPS gave me the push I needed, from hands-on experience to industry preparation. It helped me believe I belong in tech, and that confidence continues to guide me forward.
