The TECH CORPS Origin Story

This year marks the 30th anniversary of TECH CORPS, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone by kicking off Season 4 of the Founder’s Focus Podcast with Episode 1: Inspired to Innovate: The TECH CORPS Origin Story.

In this episode, you’ll hear directly from TECH CORPS founder Gary Beach as he shares details about how the nonprofit began. Join us as TECH CORPS alumna Marjorie Mendez interviews Gary, uncovering the inspiring journey that led to the organization’s creation.

Share Your Story: Volunteer

to Inspire the Next Generation of Tech Innovators!

Are you passionate about your career in technology? TECH CORPS is looking for volunteers to give brief career talks as part of our Computing Career Corps program.

What’s Involved?

• Who You’ll Be Speaking To: 9th and 10th grade students enrolled in our Computing Career Corps program.

• Time Commitment: Volunteers spend about 10-15 minutes sharing their career journey, followed by 5-10 minutes answering questions. Plan for a 20-30 minute commitment total.

• When: The program runs Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with sessions held once per week for each of our four cohorts over 15 weeks.

• Where: You can choose the day and location that works best for you:

  • Mondays: Whitehall-Yearling High School

  • Tuesdays: Franklin Heights High School

  • Wednesdays & Thursdays: TECH CORPS Office

• Frequency: One visit
