We are celebrating what we achieved together in 2022 and excited about what we’ll do together in 2023! TECH CORPS is currently accepting student applications for the Computing Career Corps program in Central Ohio. We’re also hiring summer program staff in California, Colorado, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio, and Rhode Island. To learn more about these opportunities and so much more, keep reading this edition of TECH CORPS Bytes.

Because of your support in 2022, TECH CORPS delivered 130 programs serving nearly 6,000 K-12 students in seven states. That’s over 4,700 hours of technology programs! More than 300 volunteers supported and mentored our students. The top three companies providing the most volunteers were: WillowTree, KeyBank and JPMorgan Chase. 2022 was an incredible year and we’re looking forward to what we can do together in 2023!

Ninth and tenth graders can learn and earn at Computing Career Corps! Students will explore 3D Printing, Coding, Robotics and more and will also learn about technology career paths. This program runs February-May, after school, one evening a week. Students who successfully complete the program will earn $400 or a new laptop. This free program is sponsored by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and administered by FCDJFS.

We’re hiring summer instructors and site coordinators for all our TECH CORPS regions. TECH CORPS is looking for passionate, creative and knowledgeable candidates who want to work with a diverse group of students to make a difference. These positions are perfect for college students and teachers on summer break. You can choose the grade band you want to work with. Computing Career Corps (CCC) students will receive a 21st century technology education experience and our program staff will play a vital role. That’s why our CCC program staff receives in-depth training before they engage with our students. The group in this photo is preparing to lead our 2023 CCC program that runs February – May in Central Ohio.

For many of our students, this will be their first experience with robotics using mBots and Lingo kits. Seasoned TECH CORPS Instructor Zanna Staton explained, “It’s exciting to connect and guide students as they explore hands-on technology activities.”
