TECH CORPS | FirstEnergy Foundation

Teaming up to empower the next generation of technology leaders!

TECH CORPS is excited to announce a new initiative funded by a $100,000 donation from the FirstEnergy Foundation that will help expand access to computer science learning for elementary and middle school students in Akron, Elyria, Lorain and Toledo.

TECH CORPS | WillowTree

TECH CORPS has launched a new partnership with WillowTree, a full-service digital product consultancy in Columbus, Ohio. The TECH CORPS | WillowTree partnership is a grassroots effort that has the power to influence and change the trajectory of technology access and exposure for greater Columbus area students.

WillowTree will host a fundraising event for TECH CORPS on Thursday, September 22 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Top Golf (2000 Ikea Wy, Columbus, OH 43240).

TECH CORPS Expands to Chicago

Do you know a Chicago student aged 16-18 who wants to learn web development this summer while earning $15 per hour? Student WEB CORPS is a TECH CORPS signature program sponsored by One Summer Chicago and Google delivered in partnership with Claretian Associates. To apply visit bit.ly/22swcchi.

In-Demand Jobs Week

As part of In-Demand Jobs Week, TECH CORPS hosted a roundtable conversation bringing together state government leaders, including Lt. Governor Jon Husted and Development Director Lydia Mihalik, alongside TECH CORPS alumni, students, and business partners. The roundtable focused on the challenges and solutions facing individuals who will fill those in-demand tech jobs.

IT On Ramp+

This summer, high school students can learn Algebra and Geometry through a computer science lens while earning up to $1,700 through the IT On Ramp+ internship. Our instructors are excited to bring this new program to students this summer!

Computing Career Corps

Congratulations to our 2022 Computing Career Corps (CCC) Horizon Science Academy students who each earned $400 or a laptop by completing activities focused on Coding, App and Web Development, 3D Printing, Robotics, Game Design and Digital Media education. CCC is funded by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners and administered by the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services.
