Students need more than technical skills—they need professionals who inspire them to think bigger and explore what’s possible. As a volunteer, you’ll help build that opportunity while seeing the creativity, confidence, and potential of the next generation.
Ways to Volunteer
Throughout the year, volunteers support TECH CORPS in a variety of ways, including:
- Share Your Career Story: Broaden students’ career focus with insights into your tech role or discuss available career paths in innovation
- Mentor Students: Volunteer online or in-person in our Student TECH CORPS program. Serve as a Simulated Client as students learn workforce skills.
- Judge Student Projects: Evaluate student presentations, provide constructive feedback, and celebrate innovative solutions.
- Support Events: Volunteer at showcases, competitions, and community events that celebrate student learning and connect students with industry professionals.
Featured Volunteer Opportunity:
TECH CORPS Hackathon (November 7th and 14th)
This year, more than 300 high school students in Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, and Elyria will team up for an exciting, high-energy day. Students will work in teams to solve meaningful challenges, develop creative solutions, and pitch their best ideas to industry judges. Along the way, students strengthen communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
You do NOT need to be a tech expert or programmer to volunteer!
We are looking for:
- Logistics Volunteers: Keep the event running smoothly by helping with registration, lunch, and set-up.
- Team Mentors: Guide student teams as they brainstorm and design their ideas. (Perfect for project managers, communicators, artists, and problem-solvers!)
- Judges: Listen to student pitches and provide encouraging feedback.
