[Atlanta, GA] – [April 24, 2025] – This summer, nearly 300 elementary and middle school students in Gwinnett and DeKalb counties will have access to FREE hands-on technology summer programs, thanks to TECH CORPS and the generous support of the Nordson Corporation Foundation and Hyland.

Through two exciting programs—Techie Camp and IT On Ramp—students in grades 3-8 will build essential technology skills, explore tech careers, and develop essential skills like problem-solving and teamwork.

Techie Camp is designed for students in grades 3-8 and invites them to dive into coding, app development, and other engaging tech activities that spark creativity and build confidence. In addition to exploring tools and technologies, students develop essential skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, and communication—laying the foundation for future academic and career success.

For older students, IT On Ramp offers a deeper dive. This two-week camp gives 7th and 8th graders immersive experiences in app and game development, cybersecurity, and web design. Students explore diverse career pathways and gain insight into the rapidly evolving world of technology.

“TECH CORPS summer camps and programs can give students a real boost when they return to school in the fall,” said Marcala Moore, TECH CORPS Expansion Program Manager. “Through coding and hands-on tech activities, students build problem-solving, logical thinking, and computational skills. These skills translate into stronger performance in subjects like math, science, and even reading comprehension. Students will experience app and web development, programming, data analytics, and more as they learn how tech connects to real-world problems and careers.”

For nearly a decade, TECH CORPS has been delivering high-quality, career-connected learning experiences to Georgia students, expanding access to opportunities often out of reach for many young learners.

“Atlanta is a thriving hub for technology, and to stay competitive, we need a strong pipeline of innovators and leaders,” said Derek Walker, Atlanta Technology Leader and TECH CORPS Board Member. “Programs like TECH CORPS are essential because they deliver meaningful, career-connected technology experiences to students from all socio-economic backgrounds. Our goal is to ensure Georgia cultivates the best and brightest talent to drive the tech industry’s future.”

This work is made possible through the commitment of corporate partners who believe in the power of education and expanding access to high-quality technology learning experiences.

“We have witnessed TECH CORPS’ incredible impact on students and communities,” said Maria Spangler, Nordson Corporation Foundation Director. “One of Nordson’s key principles is investing in the communities where our employees live and work. We believe programs like these will drive lasting change and a brighter future for all.”
