Student Applications

This year, 200 high school students in Akron, Columbus, Dayton, and Elyria (OH) will compete in our fifth TECH CORPS hackthon. The TECHCORPShack is a 12-hour coding event aimed at providing high school students with hands-on experience in computer science that is fun and engaging. During the TECHCORPShack, students are placed in teams and will learn how to create an app that tackles a real-world need or problem. Throughout the competition, students will receive mentorship and guidance from local tech experts. No cost – no entry fee! Team winners share a $1,000 prize. Please click the button below.

Be a TECHCORPShack Volunteer

Volunteer at the 2023 TECHCORPShack on Saturday, November 11th in Akron, Columbus, Dayton, or Elyria (OH). Choose to mentor high school students in tech or assist with logistics. The hackathon is sponsored by the Franklin County Department of Job & Family Services, Nordson Corporation Foundation, AT&T, SciTech, and fueled by WillowTree Apps. Our community sponsor is OhioX and the equipment is powered by Swift. Your support will inspire the next generation of tech leaders.

KeyBank Volunteers

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity that Cleveland high school students had this summer. Thanks to a TECH CORPS program called Student WEB CORPS, they were able to gain hands-on experience designing websites. Over 40 KeyBank volunteers helped nearly 80 students learn valuable skills for their future. We are grateful to KeyBank for their partnership and commitment to empowering the next generation of tech leaders.

Ohio Tech Day

Ohio Tech Day is a celebration of the people, companies, and ideas that make Ohio tech possible. TECH CORPS, with support from FirstEnergy Foundation, will give 100 Unplugged kits to Longfellow Middle School students in Lorain (OH) on Sept 29. Unplugged kits include games and activities that teach a wide range of technology concepts in a fun yet challenging way. Students can use the games and activities alone or with family and friends to explore topics ranging from algorithms to virtual reality.
